Fall at last!

Fall has finally come to Tennessee! This weekend was the first time in months we’ve had days with highs below 90 degrees.

This is by far my favorite time of year. I love the colors and smells, the cool nights, wearing sweaters and boots, bonfires, and knowing that Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner!

I have been working on some Barn Quilts that remind me of fall. These are all indoor barn quilts I made using 12×12 MDF.

And here is one I’ve made in anticipation of the Christmas season!

Poinsettia

We have been making a lot of barn quilts lately since we’ve been offering our Barn Quilt workshops. In our workshops, everyone makes their own 2×2 Barn Quilt. These can be displayed inside or finished with Polycrylic to display outside. We have several more workshops scheduled before the end of the year. If you would like to join us, check out our ‘Classes and Workshops’ page. We would love to have you!

Remodeling

Our remodeling project is now in full swing. All of the old Spa Equipment has been moved out of our space and we have started the clean up phase. Plumbing pipes need to be cut and removed from nearly every room. Then each room will get a deep clean, be painted, the new furniture moved in and the rooms decorated. With both of us working full time, plus me teaching classes and working on projects for the Fall/Winter craft fair season, it is slow going.

The hair chairs have been moved out and he mirrors are off the wall.
Pedicure thrones have been removed, plumbing waiting to be cut down.
Wet Room spa table removed. Room awaiting final clean out.
All massage tables and aesthetics chairs have been removed and the treatment rooms are awaiting their final clean outs.
A view from the main room through to the lobby. Work tables set up, things getting sorted out and boxed up.

My goal is to finish sorting and boxing up this weekend. Then on to cleaning and painting! I can’t wait to start decorating!

Thanks for following my adventure!

Cathedral Window Quilt Class

Our Cathedral Window Quilt Class has been a lot of fun and the students are making great progress! I didn’t get many pictures but I did get a few.

Working on blocks
Laura cutting her ‘Window’ fabric.
Janey’s first Window!
Eight blocks pieced together with Windows

We have had such a great time. I hate to see our classes end! Hopefully, we will receive updates as the quilts come together.

We’d love to have you join us next time!

Weaving in ends

When I work on a crochet project, I always tell myself that I am going to weave in the ends as I go. Unfortunately, that rarely happens! The project that I ‘m currently working on has many, many color changes. I’ve estimated that the end weaving alone will take me 15-20 hours. eeeeekkkk!!!! Fortunately, I can weave in ends while I am working.

This has been a really fun project and I am excited to have it start coming together. I enjoy crocheting the many sections together.

Oliver enjoys being able to hang out on a stack of crocheted octagons. 🙂

I can’t wait to share the completed project with you! Not long now!!!
